Jhocelyn Jobe
Jhocelyn values a warm and non-judgemental therapy space that encourages curiosity and compassion towards the self. She endeavours to help her clients feel seen and heard in their experiences, and enjoys working with her fellow LGBTQIAP+ community members from a standpoint that is neurodiverse affirming and trauma informed.
Jhocelyn has particular interest in supporting individuals who have come into their neurodivergent diagnosis during their adult life, working with her clients to build on their strengths and self-advocacy. She’s also passionate in applying her Emotion Focused Therapy (EFT) skills to relationship counselling, inclusive of diverse relationship structures and kink dynamics.
Jhocelyn welcomes both adolescents (16+) and adults to her therapy space. She works within a person-centered framework, applying appropriate skills from Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) to gently challenge the unhelpful patterns we fall into. In addition she has experience supporting individuals with: anxiety, stress, phobias, interpersonal issues, LGBTQIAP+ exploration, trauma, attachment issues and self-esteem concerns. She aims to support her clients in understanding the needs that may be underlying their distress, then through collaboration find a tailored approach for them to address those needs in ways that are healthy and sustainable. Jhocelyn provides individual therapy as well as relationship counselling. She is also available to conduct Adult WPATH assessments for individuals who may require this as part of their gender affirmation process.
