Q Psychology was founded with a purpose of supporting and improving mental health for all people. From our general psychology services, assessment services, group therapy programs, and research projects, right through to establishing Victoria's first private Gender Service, we have continually sought to do things differently - to go beyond the typical and to be where we are needed.
From small beginnings, Q Psychology has expanded to deliver services in-person across its three clinic locations (St Kilda, Carlton, and Geelong), via its outreach services to regional areas (e.g., Colac), and online throughout Australia via Telehealth.
At Q Psychology, we understand your individual experiences, identity, and needs are unique and diverse. We therefore pride ourselves on delivering a tailored and personalised approach when caring for your mental health.
We acknowledge and respect the importance of our work with, and connection to, various communities (particularly the LGBTQIAP+ community). We will strive to understand the specific contexts and experiences of the communities we support.
We will work to improve their mental health, and their lives, both at an individual level and at a community level. We will work to empower, and advocate for, disadvantaged communities. Internally, we will always strive to build a community, family, and connected culture within our team.
We will be loud leaders in the mental health space. We will be brave and courageous in our work and we will do the right thing regardless of fear.
We will be at the forefront of developments in mental health and therapy. We will use our work in mental health to make positive change in the world.
We will seek out opportunities to empower and support clients beyond the norm of therapy.
We recognise that therapists and clients have a core commonality: humanity. It is this humanity that will drive our work. We will be authentic and compassionate in our approaches and innovative, creative, dynamic, and adaptive in our work.
“Know all the theories, master all the techniques, but as you touch a human soul be just another human soul” – Carl Jung.
