Holly Pretorius

Holly (she/her) received her Master of Educational and Developmental Psychology from Monash University. She supports children, adolescents, and adults with a range of concerns including anxiety, depression, interpersonal challenges, identity exploration, school can’t, and self-esteem issues. Holly particularly enjoys working with neurodivergent and LGBTQIAP+ adolescents. Holly herself is proudly queer and autistic; this lived experience adds to her authentic, empathetic, and client-centred approach.
Holly’s practice incorporates evidence-based therapeutic modalities including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Schema Therapy, and Humanistic Therapy. For clients who may struggle to engage in traditional talk therapy methods, Holly uses creative mediums such as art, music, and games to supplement the therapeutic process.
Holly also has a special interest in supporting clients with Premenstrual Dysphoric Disorder (PMDD): Offering compassionate care and strategies to manage emotional and physical symptoms, Survivors of High-Control Groups (Cults): Helping individuals rebuild autonomy, process their experiences, and navigate healing, Animal Rights Activists: Supporting those experiencing burnout, compassion fatigue, and the emotional toll of advocacy, and Non-Traditional Relationship Styles: Guiding individuals through polyamory, ethical non-monogamy, and alternative relationship dynamics with respect and sensitivity.
An integral part of Holly's practice is her adorable co-therapist, Cashew, who is a certified Therapy Dog. Cashew’s calming presence creates a source of co-regulation and social connection for clients.
