Holly Pretorius
Holly (she/her) received her Master of Educational and Developmental Psychology from Monash University. She supports children (aged 10+), adolescents, and young adults with a range of concerns including anxiety, depression, interpersonal challenges, identity exploration, school refusal, and self-esteem issues. Holly is particularly interested in working with neurodivergent and LGBTQIAP+ individuals. Holly herself is proudly autistic and pansexual; this lived experience adds to her authentic, empathetic, and client-centred approach.
Holly’s practice incorporates evidence-based modalities such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). For clients who may struggle to engage in traditional talk therapy methods, Holly uses creative mediums such as art, music, and video games to supplement the therapeutic process. She also offers Animal-Assisted Therapy with her adorable co-therapist, Cashew, who is a certified Therapy Dog. Cashew’s calming presence creates a source of co-regulation and social connection for clients. Holly is proficient in conducting a range of psychological assessments, including cognitive and learning assessments, and assessments for autism and ADHD.
