Psychologist

Alyssa (she/her) is a warm, caring, and authentic psychologist with a special interest in supporting LGBTQIAP+ and neurodivergent children, adolescents and young adults ages 7 and above. She strives to create an environment that is emotionally safe and respectful of people’s needs, using a client-centred and empathetic approach when working with individuals and the important people in their life. Alyssa is also proudly neurodivergent herself and draws on her lived experience to add to her authenticity and passion for inclusive practice.

Alyssa applies evidence-based approaches including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) to create supports that fit the needs, strengths, and goals of each individual. She enjoys working closely alongside caregivers and schools alike to deliver a broader therapeutic approach and collaboratively assist them in understanding their young person’s unique needs.

Alyssa has experience in supporting people and families with anxiety, depression, life transitions, interpersonal challenges, self esteem and identity, self-advocacy, emotional regulation, PDA (Persistent Drive for Autonomy), school refusal/School Can’t, and situational mutism.
